About Josh

Josh Woolliscroft is a long time resident of Hingham where he lives with his wife, two children and a dog. He is a graduate of Queen Mary University in London where he read Politics with International Relations & American History.

Josh grew up in countryside and comes from a farming family. He is a proven community champion and spent a number of years working for the local community as a school governor at Hingham Primary school.
He is not afraid of hard work. Josh is Head of Policy and Public Affairs for a leading membership organisation working originally in London before moving closer to home.

Josh spends a lot of time walking the footpaths around Hingham and Deopham with his children and Yorkshire terrier. He is a familiar face in Hingham’s excellent local shops, cafes and pubs.

Moving out of Norwich a number of years ago Josh and his family made their home in Hingham due to the great local services, environment and community.
He says “The Covid lockdowns really brought home to me what a wonderful place Hingham is. There is a wide range of facilities, some brilliliant shops and a wonderful community spirit which sustained us through some dark days.

“I saw at first hand how the local Council responded by delivering food & medicine parcels to the most vulnerable, who were stuck at home.
He cares about people and knows his local area well and will be an effective community champion for local people.

Josh has the energy and drive to be a local Councillor. He says “My working life is all about service to the public. I know what needs to be done to ensure that local people have a person who can be the strong voice on their side. In my career I derive a great deal of personal satisfaction from helping those who come to me to solve their problems and I know I could do even more if you elect me as your representative.

“Local people need someone to stand up for them on the Council and, if elected, I know I’ll be in a position to get things sorted for local people in local villages.”
