Wymondham Central – Robert Savage & Kevin Hurn
Your Conservative Councillors for Wymondham Central
All across South Norfolk forty six Conservative community champions are standing in this election, each dedicated to solving local problems and growing a stronger economy and creating better lives for local people one family at a time, one street at a time and one place at a time. Here in Central Wymondham our two local Conservative candidates hope that you will support them on polling day.
About Robert
Robert is retired and has lived in Wymondham since 1963 and has seen the town grow into the thriving community that it is today. He is a Chartered Civil Engineer with a career spent working for Anglian Water, the Broads Authority and as a self-employed structural engineer.
Robert is also a town and county councillor for Wymondham, a trustee of two local charities and has twice been elected Mayor of Wymondham.
He is a local man, keen to see Wymondham retain its character whilst moving with the times. He seeks to balance development pressures with tough negotiations with developers on infrastructure investment that improves the quality of life for everyone.
Robert’s priorities, if elected, will be local issues such as the provision of energy-efficiency measures for the leisure centres, step-free access to the station, improved infrastructure to the town centre, such as a proper bus shelter, and to keep council tax low.
Robert says “That this election is about local people and local issues that matter to you. If elected, I will, of course, work hard for all of the people of Wymondham.”

About Kevin

Kevin was born in the nearby village of Wreningham and has lived in Wymondham for nearly 40 years. He has been married to Sharron for 35 years and they have two grown up daughters.
Kevin is a qualified electrical engineer and has worked for the same Wymondham based company since 1986. He enjoys being part of the local community and has been an active fundraiser for The Alzheimer’s Society and for Macmillan Cancer research.
He has been a Town Councillor for eight years and Mayor since 2019 and was instrumental in helping the Town Council navigate through the Covid pandemic. He is also Chairman of Wymondham Heritage Society.
His interests include horse racing, motor racing and local football where he tries to attend as many events as possible.
Kevin says he wants to promote Wymondham, support projects to raise the profile of the town and keep council tax low.
